The 2011 Sofia hotels survey

Hello and welcome to the 2011 Sofia Hotels Project. In a nutshell - we (three travel writers, a food writer and a travel photographer) will be on location in Sofia this summer for three months. We will be investigating all of the different places to stay and the local sights, attractions and entertainment for a new edition of a popular travel guide (The first time we have published a dedicated Sofia book).

Sofia, as you will no doubt have noticed, is not blessed with many modern travel guides - in fact we haven't found one yet (See our Amazon List of Sofia and Bulgaria Travel Guides">Amazon list of Sofia and Bulgaria travel guides with good Sofia sections).

In total we are scheduled to stay in 108 hotels, apartments, hostels and private homes in Sofia (Please send us recommendations to your favourite places) between July and September.

Sofia does not have a large number of international brand hotels, but if you want to charge your loyalty points there are a few, including the Hilton Sofia, the Radisson Blu Sofia, and the Holiday Inn Sofia.
